The video that particularly stood out to me was A Day
Made of Glass. This video was just amazing to me. I really didn’t think
that technology could completely be everywhere in your life. For example, from the
bathroom mirror, to the kitchen counters. And with the touch of your hand on
these clear/see through surfaces, you can do anything you imagine. By placing
your phone down, everything that is in it pops out. This technology is great
for the younger generations on America.
However, I was thinking about how practical is this for
people? How expensive would this cost to do to your entire home and or workplace?
I personally do not believe that this kind of technology would be accessible to
everyone. For example, elderly people. There is no way that these kinds of
technologies would work out for them. Especially if they are disabled. Also, how
would the lower class of America afford changes like this? And if changes like
this are coming, what is the alternative? Are we even going to be able to buy
normal stoves that aren’t a touch screen, or really even have our privacy from
the outside world anymore? I feel that people should take these thoughts into
account and realize how much this kind of technology wouldn’t work out for
everyone.

hi nina!
ReplyDeleteit is interesting how many movies we have seen that have "futuristic" ways of living. we sit back and think that this would never be possible but we are beginning to see more and more of these "futuristic" traits in reality. You mentioned the bathroom mirror and kitchen counter tops from your video. is it incredible to think that this could happen in the next 10 years.
Nina I loved that video. I found the same one and loved it. I thought it was very interesting how you can use the phone to help with all of the technology through out a typical day.
ReplyDeleteNina, I loved this video! The best part about it was that I could actually see these things happening. I watched another similar one with other really cool things. I loved how everything turned into a screen for something. Great post!
ReplyDeleteHow practical? Think of all that glass to clean. I can't even keep my iPad screen clean from finger marks! Take a look at the latest changes coming to cars (look at the technology). Take a look at Smart Toilets selling in Japan for around $7000. Good point about costs....but then again I grew up in a family with ONE phone and ONE car and look now...we managed to afford everyone with their own phone and car???
